La Mano is a jewellery studio based in Luxembourg and run by Yann Lepinois.
-"After graduating in high school at the „Lycée Classique d’Echternach“ , I decided to change my path and looked out for something more creative and crafting. Randomly I stumbled over the ancient art of goldsmithing and was immediately taken by a huge interest in this more or less uncommon form of art.
So I went to Namur to make a schooling at the „Institut d’enseignement des arts techniques sciences et artisanats“ (IATA). After I got my license as a goldsmith, I gained practical experience in different jewellerys in Luxembourg, before I started working on my own creations in December 2020.
All of my jewels are completely made by hand, using traditional and ancient goldsmith techniques. Having persued a rather classical formation, I got a knowledge in different fields of goldsmithing, such as engravement, gemmology, stone setting, valuation and repairing of old jewels...
My inspiration comes mostly from antique pieces, which I try to combine with the esthetic and soberness from the „modern design“. Resurrect the ancient with a touch of obscurity.
My works mainly consist in the creation of rings, pendants and earrings out of gold or silver."
